Res hall vs apartment- in regards to food

Hey! So I am an Indian and vegetarian and I was just wondering about food options at UCSD. Is there a lot of vegetarian ( egg is ok and included, but excluding any other meat)options or is it quite limited? Should I factor that as a decision to choosing between a res hall vs Apartments?I heard res halls don’t have kitchens whereas Apartments do. I’m REALLY good at cooking ( the singular productive thing I picked up in quarantine lol) and it might be more cheaper to cook and more variety for my diet resteictions. Could someone give me their inputs on this?

I heard res halls are freshman’s popular pick and it is both less money and a great way to integrate myself into the social scene. I really want to experience this, but obviously food is also something super important and I have to think kf that as well.

I know they have opened a bunch of new restaurants on campus including vegetarian options. There is also a large and growing Indian community in SD. Every year I seem to have more and more in my circle of friends here

My D and I spent a few hours walking around UCSD yesterday. There are tons of choices I think you’ll be happy with. And the campus is lovely. So many flowering plants in bloom in Spring time! Which college are you going to?

Oh and they have a Target on campus at the Price Center next to the book store.

There is a Triton2go app you can use to order food to pick up too
