Hello, I was accepted into Washington University with around a 3.5ish GPA however my semester grades will probably average around a 3.0 which includes a C in one of my classes....is this enough to rescind my admission? I am a minnesota resident who has always dreamed of getting into this college and I hope that the C I am getting will not be the reason I get kicked out

Write them and explain why you have dropped to a 3.0 I believe that the admissions folks will probably understand...

I think you are fine as long as you don't get 2+ C's and your GPA falls below 3.0.

I am a current freshman at Wash U and I was admitted for EDI as an Ervin Scholar under circumstances very similar to yours. Contact your admissions officer and let them know what happened and everything should be fine. Trust me, I'm here and my situation was a bit worse grade wise than yours. You should be fine...

have any of you heard of students who have had their admission rescinded? I was also admitted ed and i would also be rather peeved if I lost my admission. It was interesting though that my interviewer at washu encouraged me to take advantage of my second semester by learning without the worry of making good grades.

Yea, the one circumstance that I have heard of was a student who failed to recieve their High School Diploma due to disciplinary reasons and then had their acceptance rescinded. Although that was at Yale I doubt that its much different here... Trust me, i think the issue would have to be beyond grades for admission to be rescinded.

thats reassuring, I always figured that getting F's and D's would probably be a bad idea, but rescinding an application on a dip in grades seems a bit extreme. But yeah, not recieving one's high school diploma would be problematic I suppose.
