Ive just recieved my final grade it has 2cs and 1 d and 2bs.... senioritis got me really bad
well, its says on the acceptance letter than the final grade would affect the decision and might rescind admission
do you think ill get rescind from binghamton?

I recommend that you speak to an admissions counselor about that as they are the only ones who can tell you for sure.

I doubt it. they may put you on academic probation, but probably won’t rescind for 1 D. An F may be another story.

I really hope they do not rescind it, it would ruin my life completely

It’s considered good practice to maintain a decent GPA all the way through senior year. Why jeopardize your admission to Binghamton University because you “didn’t feel like working” for a few more months? Freshman year will be extremely busy, and being lazy doesn’t help prepare you for anything.

At my school our finals week was in the last 5 school days. I had a Computer Science project due at 11:59PM on the final day of class.

If you are in fear of having your admissions decision rescinded, I think it’s a good idea to immediately get in touch with admissions. It is better to be proactive; write a letter explaining the circumstances BEFORE they receive your final transcript. However, don’t say anything stupid such as “I was lazy and didn’t feel like working anymore”, or anything that would make them MORE likely to scrutinize your transcript. Once they make a decision to rescind your decision, it is extremely unlikely that they will reverse the decision. At that point your only choice would be to attend a community college for a year, as you would NOT find out about a rescinded decision until AUGUST. High schools often take a long time to send final transcripts, and it takes the University a long time to review them.

Don’t panic too much, though. I don’t personally think they’d rescind your decision over one “D”. This is in no way a guarantee though.

Good luck! :)

I don’t think your admission will be rescinded. Most SUNYs rescind admission for not completing a high school course (failing or not gaining credit)-not grades

It hard to say what course of action you should take though. Part of me says, to let it be and hope they don’t notice-and they probably wont.

However, if they do notice, a letter sent to them before they find out is the right thing to do.

But, a letter might tip them off…

Ehh I got nothing. Good luck and don’t worry about it.

what are you grades like in comparison to past performance? are these the first grades below a B on your whole transcript or something like that?

to be honest…be wary of calling admissions about it unless these grades are literally black/white compared to your whole application last fall. they will note that you made the call, and you’re file could be marked, drawing even more attention to your poor performance.

I’m in your same situation, though I had some serious family issues going on in april that left me with a WF in one of my classes (an A- and B+ in the other two, so it was obviously not overall laziness). when I called, I was told that only in cases of severely poor performance (all A’s to all F’s) have they “considered” rescinding a decision.

I wouldn’t freak out too much, but damn was it so hard to keep a B in all your classes? you got into bing, after all! tssk tssk.
