I did ok throughout high school and got a 3.4 through the first semester of senior year. My second semester did not go so well and now I have straight Cs. I applied to the Fulton School of Engineering as a chemical engineer. I am very worried about my grades and am wondering what my chances are. I got these grades because I have a lot on my plate with one of my parents using a wheelchair and the other developing arthritis in her hands and is unable to do the chores she used to. On top of this, I keep a job where I work four times a week. Do you think my application will get rescinded?
I can’t imagine ASU rescinding your application. As long as you passed your courses and met the requirements, you should be totally fine. But, will this home / work situation continue while you are an ASU student? Chemical engineering is going to be really rough and you’ll need to be focused on your studies.
My brother and sister are coming back home to help out while I’m at Arizona State so, I am not worried about having too much on my plate.
Although you asked whether your “application” will be rescinded, I think that you meant to write “will your acceptance be rescinded ?”.
I don’t know the answer to your question. Are there specific requirements in terms of courses & GPA for admission to the School of Engineering ? If so. do you still satisfy those requirements ?
If this worry causes you too much stress, then think about contacting admissions & explaining why you earned lower grades. My best guess, however, is that your acceptance will not be rescinded.
