I havn't been admitted yet, but I plan on dropping AP Spanish. I really don't want to report it at least before I receive my regular decision results though. Is there any chance that this will cause a rescinding or am I just worrying too much.

Expected 2nd Semester Senior Year Grades:
Differential Equations A
AP Chem A/A-
AP Psychology A
American History (We don't do AP for this): A/A-
AP English Lang: C+/B-/B

I have gotten a 4.0 UW GPA as a straight A student every semester before 2nd semester. Will dropping AP SPanish 2nd semester cause any weird troubles? Should I explain why I didn't take it 2nd semester at the end of the year or do I have nothing to worry about?

As you haven’t been admitted, then I wouldn’t report it or worry about.

BTW: If you drop AP Spanish, you will need to take 3 semesters of a foreign language at Yale if you are admitted: [Foreign Language Distributional Requirement | Distributional Requirements | Sophomore Web Site | Yale College](<a href=“Yale College”>Yale College)

I believe that if you drop AP Spanish but take the placement test, you can place into Level 3, which will require two more semesters of Spanish, or Level 4, which will require only one more course.
