So let’s say I get 3 Cs, or 1 D. I know the Michigan site says this serves as grounds for a rescinded acceptance.
How often does Michigan follow through with this and actually rescind someone for 1 D or 3 Cs in core classes?

I know you have a lot of experience here @Alexandre
What would you say as far as my question goes?
3 Cs or 1 D could be grounds for rescinding an acceptance, especially if those grades are in core classes like English or Mathematics. However, you will more likely be put on academic probation, which goes in your record and affects graduate school admission in the future. Why is this even a possibility? Avoid anything less than a B- if you can. You do not want to have to explain a C or worse.
@Alexandre Okay thanks. If I could drop an AP class and go to a normal, and keep a B-, should I do that? I have a 73 this semester, but if I drop to regular I could probably get at least a 88 next semester, which would pull me to a B- would you recommend this versus keeping a C in an AP class?
Remember that you have to update Umich if you change your schedule since you listed it on the application.
They do not like seeing people switch to an easier course.
But in your situation idk what the best solution would be since you have a lower grade.
Umich rescinds u if u have anything more than 3 C’s or lower it looks bad if u switch to an easier class and u would have to let umich know just try to bring your grades up to B’s

Here is what UMich says, for reference. Eeeee127 pretty much summed it up.
