I am taking 5 classes right now and I have a c in physics . tHe rest r b's except an a in art. I was just wondering if the needed 3.0 was just for academic classes or all classes.

Alexp127 - it is not clearly specified, just that you maintain a 3.0 or higher unweighted GPA for each semester. Ambiguous as to:

only UC a-g eligible courses or all courses

drop + and - using the rules for UC GPA or calculated as it is done at your high school

I suspect that if the result in a semester is so close that it depends on how you interpret the above, the odds are you will skate by if you make a good case, but you are not absolutely guaranteed to keep your admission.

If you have one A, one C and the rest are all B, then you will meet the 3.0 under pretty much any interpretation. Since art is a category f class, it would certainly be included. If the A were in PE or some other class not accepted under a-g, you would fall into that foggy ambiguous zone.
