How often does temple and rutgers take away accepted mission? If my son had a D+ or C- in AP stats but had a A to B average in the other 5 AP classes?

sorry not mission…I meant admission.

In addition Rutgers asks for a weighted gpa on the application…my school does quality point average…which mine is 4.2 gpa and unweighted gpa of 3.1. Is putting the 4.2 quality point average on the weighted average okay?

You should post these questions on those schools’ forums. You’ll get more informed answers.

The C would be a lot safer than the D. Tell him to cowboy up for the semester. Asking for a C is not asking a lot.

Glido - It is if he didn’t earn it!! Consequences… sometimes crappy ones - are what life is. Live it and learn it.

This said… one bad grade alone is not going to get you rescinded. Not that I’ve ever seen on here in three years. Yes, there are “Stories” but they typically involve sliding grades in general or some sort of academic dishonesty. Academic dishonesty is usually a much bigger deal. He might be asked to explain it… but that’s about it. Tell him to NOT throw in the towel and dig deep the rest of the year with NO SENIORITIS.

yes he is working very hard. he’s paid most attention to psych. which he as a 98 for the semester and is finishing his eagle project. In addition do either of you know why rutgers asks for cumulative weighted gpa?

eagle scout is huge

yes it is I am very proud of him. But he is just stressing so much about getting into rutgers and with them wanting a weighted gpa and him having a 3.1 unweighted and a 4.2 quality point average.

Again, if he has the acceptances in hand, I wouldn’t get overly stressed. If he doesn’t have them yet, then yes, this grade is going to hurt. Will it PREVENT him admission, not a clue, but I doubt it would rescind what’s been offered.

yes he has already been accepted into rutgers sas but hasnt received his acceptance letter due to the easier campuses in camden and newark not reviewing him yet…should be here next week.

nevermind he got the paper acceptance today :)
