rescind?

i got a d is one class, but i sent them a letter explaining why and they never responded back.. is it possible to get rescinded at this point?

i don't think so. You're practically.. in school now. You went to orientation yes?

yeah i did.. but i'm just still anxious.. what if i go there and they tell me i'm rescinded? or maybe they sent me a letter but i never got it.. i guess i should stop overanalyzing and worrying..

well i mean. if you registered for orientation... and they didn't kill you when you were there. I'd be okay. DWAI!

if you go to your URSA there should be a link somewhere that will tell you if your admission status is withdrawn

thanks Deuces.. and FireEmblem.. can you tell me where on ursa please?

Call Murphy Hall.

Did you re-take the class by any chance @ community college or whatnot?

Its under registration...but on second thought it might be for if you decide to withdraw, not if they rescind your admission..so i would do what mmelin said just to be sure

ah.. i think it's too late to call now.. i guess i'll call tomorrow. well..if they rescinded me..would they still send me emails to send in the bar account payment by the 20th and the housing balance? and wouldn't i not be able to log-in to myucla?

Don't rely on that. The system isn't exactly streamlined.

okay..i'm starting to get very worried..i checked the mail every single day and they never sent me a letter saying they revoked my acceptance..so i'm not sure how i should perceive this situation..

try not to worry about it too much. just call murphy like mmelin said, that's all you can really do for now.

Have you tried submitting that form online about it? I remember it guaranteeing a response within 2 weeks. I had a question as well, and they kept pointing that to me. I'd think you'd be in the clear by now. It'd be a bit cruel to revoke at this late hour.

They DEF do revoke this late. I would call the admissions office ASAP.

an counselor told me each year some students try to hide bad transcripts and those students get a knock on their dorm rooms (after school has started) letting them know they have been revoked.

^Wouldn't that be more of an issue of someone not submitting their transcript? I mean, its only fair that the school gives the guy a while to send his transcript in, only to revoke him if he still doesn't to hide a bad grade, but if its like the OP's situation, and they still haven't called him on it...

If you do receive some sort of response, try to request some sort of deal or negotiation. I have known at least one person with a mark of D their second semester of senior year who have had to take the equivalent course at the CC during the summer before school. I don't know how this would work coming into UCLA, though. What were your reasons for your bad mark? What was the course too? ...will affect how your decision. But yes, please call Murphy.

actually..i sent in my transcript right on time and they emailed me back asking why my grades dropped.. i replied back saying i was going through some personal issues that i won't discuss here but i did in my explaination..and they never responded me back with an email or a letter

I would definitely check to see that they got your letter to begin with, since they had to initiate the contact with you about your grade when you were suppose to acknowledge it to the university to begin with and not just send in your transcript hoping it was overlooked. Technically its still a breach of contract and they're allowed to rescind their offer if they choose to, so you should get a move on it...

thanks everyone for your help.. and i'm pretty sure they got my email.. because it's in my sent box..and she gave me 5 days to send her back a response through the internet..and her email asking me for an explaination didn't say she would email me back with a response.. so i guess i'll call today

I emailed them and asked them how a student is notified if they are rescinded and if they could still access myucla even if they're rescinded.. and they replied back!

Dear student,

Yes, the student will be notified by mail and a hold will be placed on
their account.

i guess i'm safe.. thanks everyone!
