can someone from wellesley say whether Wellesley rescinds students if gpa drops 10-20 points on a 100 scale?

shuttlebird,

My guess is that Wellesley's policy is similar to a lot of other LAC's. If there is a significant drop in your GPA between the transcript you sent in for your application and your senior mid-year grades, there's a pretty good chance that someone from the Admission office will call and try to see if something significant has happened to cause the drop. My guess is that they'll call the guidance counselor first to see if something out of your control (health issues, family/home issues, etc) has affected your studies. So keep your counselor informed if something is influencing your schoolwork. Senior-slump aka senior-itis is not an adequate reason.

One of my friends got a D in her math class the last semester of Senior year, and Wellesley sent her a mean letter, but did not do anything drastic like rescind her admission.
