Rescinded admission to boarding school?

I remember when all the acceptances came in March there were discussions shortly afterwards about how much of a decline in grades would be needed to have your decision rescinded.

Son just received his last report card and did very well so I have no more fears of this possibility thank goodness.

It made me wonder though- has anyone had any contact this year or other years - and actually been rescinded from bs?

If you look on the college threads this seems to happen fairly often in college admissions.

I think part of the reason its more common in college is because a lot of people treat senior year as a blow off year and they don’t really care because they already got in and they don’t think its important.

That can happen with anyone though. Most middle schools don’t have final exams that can determine a huge amount of your grade. I brought a D+ in math for the second semester up to a B- after the final exam. If you don’t study…it’s not hard to fail a class. In middle school I couldn’t fail really if I tried.

There also seems to be a lot more liars in college applications and the colleges do a good job of researching every applicant even after admission and catching some people.

Son’s charter school has high school level courses and some kids do fail courses. Esp Mandarin Chinese seems to be a tough one for some people. Maybe cuz it’s a language in a science/math oriented school.

mpicz: was that D+ on your transcript when you applied to SPS?

Nope, it was just in the third quarter…I raised it by the final semester grade which is what’s sent to SPS.

Whoa- good job!

Yea…the final exam was worth 45% of our grade so it wasn’t to hard. Just had to do all the homework I never turned in and study for all the tests I didn’t study for.

But yea, without something like suspension for something big. or expulsion isn’t it very unlikely you will get admission rescinded?

On the college threads people are saying they were rescinded for their grades dropping.

I mean for Boarding school
