i dropped out of calc BC because i was making straight Cs and was really struggling with the class. i just realized that i have not reported it to UCLA, and on the site it said that they will review it in 15 days and in some cases admissions can be rescinded. should i be alarmed?

yes. there was a guy last year at my school who dropped ap stats and got his admission from ucla rescinded.

there were a small handful of cases of rescinded admissions from my school last year. senioritis can be deadly. there was one guy who got his ucsd admission rescinded during his second quarter there. supposedly, this is also known to happen at ucla. not fun.

what's your major alin88?

it seems like an important factor.

i am an intended cell, developmental, and molecular biology major. it is a science, that's why i'm worried. i dropped BC for AB after first semester. i was making Cs in BC and i'm making a mid B in AB. i know it should probably be higher since i've covered most of the material already, but i suck at math. i reported this on the common app but still got accepted to washu, so i'm hoping that UCLA will be as understanding.

you need to report it to them as soon as possible. But...you dropped it for a lower math class, not dropped it entirely, so they shouldn't rescind ur admittance.

i dropped stats senior year, (got a C first semester, dropped it second) no rescinded admission...

i don't know of anybody that got their admissions revoked. unless they didn't say anything haha.

does ucla look at your final senior year grades? because i've had b+'s during first and second quarter, but all of a sudden i have like a c now; should i be safe and notify them of the sudden grade change between the two quarters, or will they only look at the final final grade averaged together?
cuz if they look at the final grade, it's still gonna be in the b b+ range. but still...

Yes, UCLA does look at your final senior year grades -- and whatever else is on your transcript mailed by your high school. You should notify the undergraduate admissions office of the grade change just to be safe.

i forgot to mention that those grades only apply to my ap physics class, not my overall average.

does that make a difference?

is it wise to call up the office if there's still no confirmation of my admission after about 2 weeks? they did say 15 working days though... but it seems like almost everyone I know who reported academic changes has had a reply even though they sent it in later than me... or should i just wait the 15 days out sigh.

My weighted GPA has stayed the same senior year as I have junior year, but my unweighted GPA has dropped due to more honors/AP classes. Will this hurt me?

I am taking a calculus class (1 level higher than calc bc) at a community college for the winter quarter and i might get a C...
and in the past years, i have always gotten As in math

currently,in my high school i'm getting As and Bs...

is there a chance (even slight?) of me getting rescinded? as this year ucla has become much more competitive with its massive amount of applicants.

if i get a C, should i immediately contact them?

btw, im majoring in biology

I'm also majoring in Bio, then moving on to optometry school...

But anyway, if you get a C, you should be fine, you don't need to contact them. It says contact them if you get more than 3 C's or a D.

Sorry to grab for advice, but...
I said that I was going to take the Calc BC exam (I'm in Calc AB now), but I changed my mind and I'm only taking the AB test. Will any colleges care about this?

Thanks!

I think I may have done the same thing as jaimie17 with Macroeconomics AP (a class I took over the summer but am not taking now). I don't remember if I put it, but would colleges care?

i know it says 15 days, but this wait is making me jumpy. UCLA has quicly become my preferred school. how long is it normally taking people to get a response back?

took me 2 days

about 2 days here. my reply back took about 15 minutes.

today's lucky 13th WORKING day for me and still no reply. I think my app has ended up in the trash.
