Alright I'm freaking out. I'm going to Mizzou in the fall, but I'm terrified that I'm going to get my admissions rescinded. I got a D in my Photography Studio class. The rest of my grades are 2 A's, 1 B, and 2 C's (in weighted classes). The reason I got a D is because my camera broke mid-semester and my family was not financially able to repair or replace the camera. Now, my grades aren't too different aside from the D. I still graduated and I'm not an art major. I don't know if I should send an e-mail explaining my situation to an admissions counselor because I'm sure they'll want to know what happened. I know it's bad and a D will not happen again. I'm just really worried and I don't know what to do or if my reason for the D is acceptable...help?

no, you likely won’t.

they may ask you why you got those grades, but a satisfactory explanation will probably resolve things.

it would be better if you contacted them about it, though. it’s best to demonstrate that you care about it and that you didn’t just get this through slacking.

I would contact them and explain what happened, but regardless, I doubt your offer of admission will be rescinded.
