Rescinded for not taking summer course?

Hello. My major is Cog Sci and O:ve been admitted as a transfer student in UCLA. On the TAU, I stated that I am planning to take Calc 2 and computer science during summer (both are pre req courses). I recently moved to LA from OC. I was going to attend LACC from my house during summer but now it seems like they are not having summer session. Will I get rescinded for not taking summer course? Would they answer me right away if I ask them by phone?

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using CC

They might. Tell them your situation though they might not give a straight answer. Is there anyway you could go to your old CC for the classes?

arghhhhhhhh :frowning: I dont know if that will be possible. Do people usually get rescinded this type of situation?

It’s really hard to say in your situation. The reason being that you said you would take the classes in the summer, which UCs generally do not let help you for admission. However, you were accepted, so it’s not clear if they accepted you becuase they knew you would take those classes in the summer. Call and ask them to see what they say. If aren’t ok with it, then see if you can arrange to stay somewhere close in the OC for 8 weeks on the weekdays. They might well tell you it’s ok, but it’s just hard to know.

ahhhhhhhhhhh T-T Thank youuuu. I will call and ask them tomorrow. I really hope everything works out fine…;(

I really hope so too! Good luck. :)

You can also consider to take those classes at UCLA summer session. They offer financial aid for newly admitted student as well.

I highly doubt you would be penalized for something that is beyond your control, however you should make sure you don’t get automatically rescinded by their computers, so call and explain. I also suggest taking the classes at a different college so you can get those pre read out of the way and move on with your degree.
