Rescinded from FSU?

Hey guys and gals, my name is Bret and I'm new here.

I was accepted to FSU earlier this year and I'm now worrying that I will have my admission revoked. I was wondering what you all thought.

I got accepted with a 3.55 weighted GPA for my first 3 years and a 1130 on the SAT.

1st semester of this year I did well and raised my overall GPA to a 3.6 flat. I got an "A" in AP Gov and a "B" in AP Human Geo, my only 2 AP classes. And got no grades below a "C".

This final semester my grades have dipped. 3rd quarter my GPA was a 3.35 and I got a "D" in chemistry.

I will probably get the same for the 4th quarter.

Now during the first semester I was worried about getting a "D" so I spoke to an admissions officer at FSU and was told that since it was just Chemistry that I was struggling in that I should be alright.

But after getting that dreaded "D" 3rd quarter and knowing that I'm pretty much locked to get a "D" or "F" for the 2nd semester in there I called up FSU again just to follow up. This time a different admissions officer scared the hell out of me and told me there's a chance I could be revoked if my overall GPA that I was accepted with goes down after factoring in my senior grades.

What do you think? I figure my 1st and 2nd semester grades would cancel out and I'd be right where I was at 3.55 or so, but I'm very worried.

Thanks for any feedback.

I hope it goes well for you, but all acceptances from FSU (at least) are based on successful completion of the senior hs year and are not guaranteed. I suspect that what 'successful' means depends on how much pressure the university is under from kids for admission.

This will no doubt change every year, as admissions standards ebb and flow.

The difficulty of your course work will probably influence the impact of lower grades, e.g. a 'D' in a hard course is better than a 'D' in an easy one.

Good luck!
