For my first semester of Senior year, I got 2 A's, 2 B's, and 1 C. The C was for my AP Calc BC class. For some reason, Calc just does not fit with me and I cannot do well in this class. In second semester, right now there are only 7 weeks left and I have a D- in this class. I know that UCSD will rescind me if I have a D, so my friend mentioned Withdraw-Passing the class. What does that mean?

You need to see your guidance counselor asap and explain your dilemma. It sounds like your friend is suggesting you switch to a credit/no credit basis instead of a letter grade. That may or may not be possible.

Do schools rescind acceptance for C’s?

My grades are mostly A’s and B’s but there is one class that I am expecting a C in in because I got a C+ in last semester.

Other than that one C, I am expecting all A’s and B’s

my guess would be one C would be fine anywhere

C’s are fine with UCSD, it’s written in the SIR contract.

You will not get rescinded for any C’s. However, you WILL get rescinded for having a D. You should go see your counselor ASAP or consult your teacher and present the situation you are currently in.

Most of the times, teachers are sympathetic and will round up to a C- for you, granted that you are on the verge of having your acceptance rescinded. Teachers don’t want to see their students fail!
