so my physics final was this thursday and friday. but on tues, i came down with a really high fever and couldnt really study for it. and since its a final, there are no makeups, so even though i was still really sick i had to drag myself out of bed and take it. and i did as well as i imagined on it. before the final i had a c+ but now my grade is probably a c- possibly even lower. ive never even got below a b before in any class ever.

i am going to call admissions office and write them an email detailing what happened. i kno normally a d is automatic rescindment, but my major(econ) is totally unrelated, and this is already my 4th yr of science(i think uc requires 2 yrs and recommends 3 yrs) one possible solution is retaking the class at cc in the summer, if they will let me.

any advice? i hope this works out in the end because i reallly dont want to end up going to community college, all because of a stupid flu at the worst possible time :[

I'd like some advice as well. I'm straddling on the C/D border in AP English. I still have half a final to finish on Monday, but the worst-case scenario is still a possibility.

I went through a similar problem. It comes down to enrollment numbers after SIRs come in. If they over-enroll (more SIRs than they planned on) - like last year - you're out. Otherwise, you should be fine provided you're well above all the other minimums.

Last summer I got rescinded from UCLA, but was still able to attend UCSD.

I had a D in AP Calculus my senior year of high school. I'm not sure why UCSD didn't rescind me, but I think it probably has to do with the facts that it is was my 4th year of math, my GPA was still ok, and my grades before that were okay. Just be sure to send them a letter explaining your problem. Wait it out and see if you do get a D in the class. Don't give up on it.

I had to deal w/ a family death last semester which pretty much resulted in much, much lower grades + a 66 in AP calc last semester -- but pulled it up to a 71 this semester. It's my 5th year of math (alg 1 in 8th, geometry in 9th, alg 2 in 10th, precal in 11th, and ap calc in 12th) but UCSD told me they wouldn't let me know if I was going to be rescinded or not until they received my final transcript. My GPA last semester was a 3.0 and this semester I pulled all of my grades up and I think I managed a 3.8 or something.

I wrote a letter explaining my situation, included a death cert to verify the situation, and pretty much told them I was going to take the AP test, take the class at a comm. college during the summer, and improve my grades.

Well, I've done all of them. what next? I'm hoping I won't be rescinded.

o yah i talked to my counselor today and she said because it was my 4th yr of science, it would count as an a-g elective and not a core class. so basically it would be something more like yearbook rather than ap bio. will that make a difference?

why do you get break from 4th year of math?
Before I complete my senior year. I would have taken geometry (9th), algebra II (10th), Trig/precal (11th), stats (11th), Calc AB (11th summer), Calc BC (12th)
i would have like 6 years of math

gl to you. I just took a Physics final too also on Thursday and Friday. We're not getting the results back until the last day of class =(
But the teacher was pretty cool. He let's us do extra credit to save our asses...maybe.

I think I know you, topic creator. If so, definitely good luck to you and also talk to the teacher. =)
