I’ve been admitted to UCLA as a transfer for the Fall of 2017. I realized when I got my admission that I reported that I was planning to take a dance class in the spring which I ended up having to drop because it required a joint course (before the app/drop deadline at my school so it won’t even be a “W”). I am an American Literature and Culture major and this class wasn’t needed for anything (I was just trying to take it for fun). I still will have over 60 semester units and will be completing my major prep and IGETC. I called the office of admissions and they said I still have to report the change and won’t get a response back until the end of the month. WHAT?! Would they rescind me for a class that was just intended to be for fun?! Help!!
you’ll have to wait. but it is highly unlikely you will be rescinded.
Most likely you’ll be fine. They require you to submit the changes as a formality for the contract, and if that class you dropped does not interfere with your 60 units minimum requirement/IGETC/major prep classes, and you did not receive a “W” grade, then you should not have anything to worry about. (Especially since the class was just a fun elective!)
Please relax. You should be fine.
