Rescinded?

I was wondering if I would get rescinded for my senior year grades.

AP Calc A/B B C
International Bus A A
Contemp Lit B B
Econ B (sem1)
AP Gov C (sem2)
AP Physics C C

My sem1 gpa was 3.0 unweighted/ 3.4 weighted
If I keep my sem 2 grades, I'll have a 2.6 unweighted/ 3.0 weighted.
I know that in the UCI freshman contract it says a minimum of 3.0 weighted in senior year courses, but I was wondering if UCI would still rescind me because I have so many C's. (I mainly got A's and B's during 10th and 11th)

Thanks for any replies! :)

I highly highly doubt it. They really don’t care if you have a lot of C’s, as long as your weighted GPA is over a 3.0. Actually people have had under a 3.0 weighted that have still gotten in. They just want to make sure you don’t completely slack off, and say get a 1.8.

cacophonus your reply has given me so much hope, I can’t make a 3.0 cumulative GPA my senior year, even though I have no D’s or F’s. I didn’t slack off, my mom stopped receiving unemployment benefits and my family was put in a bit of financial trouble. I had to get a job working under the table at a restaurant, and wasn’t able to maintain my grade. I reported my low grade report, but the UCI counselor said,

Hi (Name Hidden),

You must maintain at least a weighted 3.0 gpa your
senior year (for fall and spring) - if not your
admission will be withdrawn.

Raise your cumulative senior year GPA to a 3.0 and
you will be fine.

Best,

UCI Counselor

I felt hopeless. Well, even though you said many kids with less than 3.0 still got in, I don’t think I will. Just had a little burst of hope there. :(

I’m pretty sure if your GPA is close to 3.0 you should be fine. Also, it says cumulative. Since second semester (or quarter or whatever your school is on) isn’t over, you still have time to raise that up. If it balances to be a 3.0 weighted, it should be fine. I’m doubt the counselor would give you a response that said “oh, that’s okay” mostly because, they have to uphold some standards. Given your conditions, they’d probably understand anyway. A student dropped his GPA to really low his senior year, but he gave a compelling story of his parent’s divorce and they let him in anyway. Or so I’ve heard.
