I was lucky enough to be accepted to Yale RD. I’m worried about being rescinded. My school calculates grades out of 100, so everything is more precise than your typical A, B, C, or D. Below are my grades for senior year. Am I at risk for being rescinded?
First Semester:
AP Calculus BC: 85
AP Chemistry: 83
AP Stats: 94
AP Econ: 94
AP Literature: 95
Research: 97
Second Semester (Anticipated):
AP Calculus BC: 85
AP Chemistry: 77
AP Stats: 95
AP Econ: 91
AP Literature: 95
Research: 90
I am quite concerned about my AP Chem grade (down 6 points) and my Intel Research grade (down 7 points). Am I at risk for being rescinded? Thanks for the help.
^^ what would be the point of getting another opinion? It’s not even close. At worst, you’d get a stern letter advising that they’re not big fans of the 77.
Agree - you’re fine. If it makes you feel better, you could talk to your GC or even try to contact Yale directly. I know that one of the schools that accepted my son stated flat out that if you had a grade lower than a C, there might be a problem - otherwise, no problem.
You’ll be fine. But it’s only a few more weeks. Might want to tighten up a bit so they don’t slip more. Other than that, we all agree that you’re in and you’re Golden. Welcome to the family!!
@raisininthesun1 Ugh I’m in the same situation I have a B- in AP Calc (which may very well drop to a C…) and a B in AP Bio right now and my parents are freaking out. But after reading the comments in this thread, I feel slightly reassured.
I agree @T26E4 - you all are so used to obsessing over grades that you don’t know when to take a step back. Just buckle down and keep doing the great job that got you into these schools in the first place and you will be fine.
Haha thanks everyone! @YaleDad2019 I’m going to be super busy next week with college visits- Sunday & Monday at Columbia DOC, Monday-Wednesday at Yale BDD, and Thursday-Saturday at Stanford Admit Weekend! Definitely leaning towards Yale though!
