has anybody had their admissions rescinded because of grades? if so, what was your gpa?

hey im only a freshman in HS but what kind of GPA do you need to get into SDSU

i think as long as u're not 0.2 below ur posted gpa u are ok.. like if u told them 3.4, then dont go below 3.2 ..
and no D's or F's

sup and1balla.. wow in 4 years... this thing is almost like inflation.. its gonna keep getting higher each year.
since this year's avg was about 3.5, i'll guess it might be around 3.7~3.8?
its pretty unpredictable but what is for sure is this school is getting more n more competitive each year.

danny901: so that means if you were accepted and had 3.4 and are currently failing AP Calc, AP Stat, and government, and are not worried because they have fulfilled the math requirement, so the only class they are concerned about is government. Should they notify admissions? Just because you have your math requirement does that mean that it is no big deal if you fail?

the math requirement you mean, is that for your own school right? Or SDSU's?
I would advice you to talk to the admission because those do not look so good. Not just SDSU, but any college wouldn't want to see F's, and especially if it will pull your GPA down.
I think SDSU isn't as strict as other schools, but still it would be good to talk to them about it now, otherwise there might be a problem when u sent your final transcripts in.
is it affecting your GPA a lot?

I really don't know what this person's gpa is currently at, but they are only taking five classes and only has 5 weeks left for final grades. It has to be at least 2.0 or under. This person seems to think since they have the requirements for both sdsu and their h.s. and enough credits to graduate that the math classes shouldn't be an issue. I just can't imagine that sdsu admissions would allow it. I can see maybe one class but two, doesn't seem right. This person has a major case of senioritis. And also this person grades has been on a decline since 11th.

i no im only a freshman and all but its never to early to plan. San Diego State Seems like an insane school. Would i get in with like a 3.3 and good extra curicular ****?

i have one question can u get to a 3.4 gpa average if ur at a 3.1 average right now as a junior cause im really trying to go there SDSU

according to the csu gpa system i had a 3.1 and i got in. i did get lucky though as ppl with similar gpa's at my school did not. But a 3.4 should be good enough to get you in, if you do end up having that.

and about the 2.0 person... you need to have at least a 2.5 i believe to stay accepted, and you must notify them of any D's or F's because you risk being rescinded with a D or F in any class.

i guess once you're above the 3.0 AND decent SAT's you have a good chance of getting in. but these averages are increasing every year, so its best to improve your scores if possible.

btw, SDSU doesnt look at extracurriculars, so dont worry about that. all they look at is GPA/SAT's. no essay no recommendation.

theres this eligibility index at the SDSU site you guys should look at, they tell u the average combined score of GPA+SAT you should have to get in.

and socaligirl you said your friend was accepted with a 3.4.. and now has around 2.0? thats definitely a problem.. that problem needs to be worked out with the admissions. that too big of a drop.. and F's and D's are tooo strong of a senioritis

ok for those california people what do the csu look at what GPA the csu gpa average or the academic gpa average

well i had 3-4 ap's and honors combined, and they apparently did not count my extra gpa but I believe it was a factor in letting me in, cause i showed I can do fine in college level classes.
