I am somewhat worried about the likelihood of being rescinded from UMD this fall. I got just below a 2.0 for my 2nd semester of senior year, and was wondering if some sort of academic probation or other program is more likely then being totally rejected from Maryland. As a sidenote I was accepted into their scholar's program.

You got a good reason for the GPA drop? You might enroll in summer classes that would be transferable UMD. You at College Park? Talk to your college counselor, if they are helpful and you trust them. They can intervene for you if they want to! Good luck laxman-now do you play LAX or were you lax this past semester? Were you an athletic recruit? That's a whole different situation.

I think you need to contact the school and find out where you stand instead of having others guess or give their opinions as what will happen.

If being admitted into their honors program is maintained on having a certain GPA, did your final grades make your GPA drop so much that you are no longer elgible for the honors program?

You need to find this out especially if there is scholarship money attached to the honors program so you can talk to your parents about paying for school.

I love how people here keep using the word "rescinded" in order to try to sound smart

What word you prefer they use?

I would sort it as a college admission jargon but not a word to sound smart when 90% of this board would know what it means O.o?

What, would you rather them use kick out? Or recieve-a-letter-asking-me-to-leave-cause-my-last-semester-grades-sucked-too-much? Or took away my acceptance? =P

lol, I know what it means! I learned it for a 400 word vocab english test! It may be that the 10% that don't know the word would go to the dictionary...
