Does anybody know what standards Case uses to determine if they will rescind admissions? I'm having issues with a couple of ridiculous teachers in AP classes (English, Calculus, etc). Case accepted me with two or three Cs at the semester-I've since raised all but one to a B or better-but it looks as though it'll be a close call in AP English (I might get a C+ or, maybe, if I'm lucky, a B-). I looked through the "Admit One" packet, and the statement just says that you must "successfully complete" your senior classes. Presumably, this would mean that if you graduated, you're safe, which would leave me with a comfortable grade buffer against recission. Since then I've heard that tolerance towards less-than-stellar senior grades varies wildly between colleges. It seems as though Case isn't one of the stricter schools in this regard, however; it never comes up in those discussions of "harsh schools".

Does anybody have any info/war stories/suggestions/knowledge?

Hi there,
I work in Case's admissions for work-study (and am currently a sophmore there), and while I do not anything to do with counselors or having final say in applications, you shouldn't worry about Case rescinding your admission.

That rarely ever happens: denying someone because of their last semester grades once they've gotte accepted. The only way they would ever consider that is if you probably murdered someone and then got all F's.

Don't sweat it. You should be fine.

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me or mail me at btc8@case.edu

To Babumohan: Well, you never know. I'm paranoid like that (although what you're saying does make sense; I've been thinking that for a while).

To btc8: So, you've almost never heard it discussed? That's good to hear. I was worried about it for a while. I figured that Case wouldn't be too strict about it since they only wanted "successful completion" of the senior year courses, rather than "comperable performance" or other specific guidelines that other schools seem to emphacise (i.e., JHU, CMU, U of C, etc.)

Kowsnofskia, don't be paranoid. You got in to the schools because you were what they wanted. I know, personally, I was worried that Case would reconsider my app because I got a B in econ or some noise like that. But, you have nothing to be worried about: You got in to the school because you were the best, and what they wanted, and one semester will not make them seriously reconsider.
