Okay, so I know there's been a few threads on this, and usually the answer is just "don't fail anything", buuuut, I'm afraid the worst might happen, and I'll fail something. The thing is, I'm afraid it's gonna' be my orchestra class (one of them, I take two) because my teacher decided that he's going to take a grade on something he hasn't taken a grade on for the past four years. My grades in every other class will be an A, it'll just be that one class. Would Cornell rescind my offer for that? Does anyone know any stories of an offer being rescinded?

there is no rule that cornell employs when deciding to resind admission to certain applicants. usually, getting anything below C- would raise a red flag. Getting several Ds or even getting a F could become a problem. However, I am no expert on this topic and u should call the admissions office or email a representative. Also, try your best to avoid that F if possible.

i dont think any teacher would be ******* enough to give an F to a senior...

Yeah, that's what I'm hoping. It's just nervewracking because for the last four years, we've gotten a 100 because it's an orchestra class, and he gives us the grade for preparation, but we're in a program in school that technically requires us to go see a performance from another student group that we're not in and bring documentation, but he's never taken a grade for this. Suddenly, though, he's decided he's going too, so I don't know what to expect. Hopefully he's smart enough to realize that failing a senior second semester completely screws with their college plans.

Your orchestra teacher is going to give a senior an F for the spring semester? What a #$*&#. Anyway, talk to him about it if you think it actually might happen. Or if you don't want to talk to him go to a guidance counselor.
