After getting a four on the ap world history exam i felt down not just cause of the score but because during the test i skipped 1 bubble and had to erase almost 15 questions and redo them. It happened twice haha! In the end gotta 4 but i really felt i gotta 5 walking out. Did well in class and my essays for the actual exam were lengthy and filled with content. How much does 10-15 questions make a difference cause i know this happened for sure (can still remember the panic i was in). Money isnt the problem so would you rescore if you were in this situation.

Unless you need this course to get out of a history requirement then I wouldn’t waste my money. A 4 is not a bad score by any means! If you expected a 5 and got a 1 then I would rescore but it’s not uncommon for us to over/underestimate our score by a point.

yup a 4 is alright but the error i made during the exam might have prevented me. who knows? I guess its just worth a try.

bump…

Personally, I wouldn’t waste my money. Most colleges accept a 4 for similar if not the exact same credit as a 5, and a 4 is still a very impressive score. Plus, the odds of you getting a 4 based on only one of your sections being present is very small - if you had a 3 or lower, that would be a different story.

Unless your college/intended college offers significantly greater credit relevant to your major/general education requirements for a 5 over a 4, I would be happy with what you got.

Thanks and your right a 4 is a pretty good score. I still might send a letter to CollegeBoard anyways. If nothing changes ill just move on and study extensively to take it next year which im sure i can do it the second time around.

so now my question is that suppose I get a 5 the next year. Will it be worth less cause it will be my second time taking it?

“Will it be worth less cause it will be my second time taking it?”

Huh?

Do you mean for college admissions?

yessir i mean colleges

^No. But, there is little value in re-taking an AP exam for college admissions purposes.

So many people seem to be asking for rescores…but I’m pretty sure 99% of them will remain the same. The answer sheets are pretty high-tech, I heard that as long as all your bubblings are consistent, you could just scribble over each one and it would pick them up.
