So I received a 4 on my AP Statistics exam which I know is a great score, but I really thought I got a 5. I was averaging a 97 in the class with 100s on most tests and quizzes. With any other exam I'd take this score, but my only concern is I used extra paper and I'm worried they didn't get it. I also used extra paper on my calculus exam and when I turned it in, they made me staple it to my own booklet, but when I went to turn in my stat booklet, and asked about stapling it, they told me they'd take care of it and put it to the side. I still will get credit for a 4 at my college, but I would like to know if I deserved a 5. I used extra paper for like 3 FR Qs and had my answers on the extra paper.
Also, my calc scores are delayed. Could this be because I used extra paper?
Thanks!

Probably. I’d get it rescored. They were ~600 points off when grading my SAT because I marked the wrong bubblesheet (lol), and then they fixed it!

Bump! Anyone else?

if you’re getting credit for the 4 what’s the point of getting it rescored

The only reason I want to is for competition issues. I want to know if I deserved a 5

yea go for it. But I have a feeling you’re going to waste your money (and time since it takes weeks to recheck, etc) since CB wouldn’t mess up so badly (as shown by all the people thinking they got higher scores).

I’m more worried that my school messed up and left out my extra paper. I at least want to know if that happened, because then I can know that I should have gotten a 5

CB messes these things up a lot. I’d say its definitely worth checking into and it’s not too terribly expensive.

Should I get a rescore on stats if I got a 4, probably because I erased 10 of the mult. choice and didn’t erase well enough, yet I thought the exam was a joke?

@IndubitableDan if you thought the exam was a joke, you were probably overconfident and made needless mistakres(like erasing 10 multiple choice… if you weren’t overconfident and hence careless you might not have made that error).

@rstein3 do they really? I thought the only real scandal when they messed up on scoring on a large scale was on the SAT a few years back, but not since then.

@Jarjarbinks23 they seem to lose materials a lot and it seems that if you ever erased an answer then it’s marked wrong; there’s a whole thread about people who got their exams rescored successfully!

@rstein3 Can you link me to it?

@rstein3 o.0 yes please do, thats a surprise

@Jarjarbinks23 I was definetly not overconfident: I took the whole 1.5 hrs on both sections, checked each of my multiple choice questions numerous times with a calcuator, etc, Though I only had an hour of sleep, no breakfast, and no lunch, so…

I did get a 0 on question 4, because I wrote down the wrong sig. test. My teacher said that they give .5 or .75 credit for wrong sig. tests, but “this year 45% of students got a ZERO on q4” (<a href=“2014 AP Exam Score Distributions”>2014 AP Exam Score Distributions)

@IndubitableDan forgive me for that overconfidence accusation… when you said “the exam was a joke,” I thought you would have made alot of careless errors.

Anyhow, you only got an hour of sleep… that is probably the reason why.

@Jarjarbinks23 It’s ok. Well the main reason that I’m surprised is that I got a 3 on the AP Lit despite guessing on over half of the mult. choice, while on the stats exam I probably guessed on 3 (or 4) out of 40, the rest were very easy, but had a slightly tricky wording to them (which is why I checked them multiple times). IN SHORT, I’m just going to order a rescore.

`@IndubitableDan please do tell us how the rescore went (if you remember, since it will take several weeks), I haven’t seen any “successful rescore” threads here on CC.

Unfortunately, most people report no change on their rescore attempts. I wish I knew what percent are successful. As I reported in the above thread, my D had her APUSH changed from ‘2’ to ‘4’ last year. They apparently lost or mangled the MC and used the grade on FRQ to determine new grade after we paid for the rescore. D was very angry because she was sure she aced the MC section and should have gotten a ‘5.’
