Hi,
I took the May 2011 SAT and was disappointed to discover that my essay scored a 9. My English teacher used to be an SAT essay reader, and he would occasionally give us practice SAT essays. He consistently gave me an 11 or 12 on my essays. I scored a 78/80 on the writing mc and a 9 essay which came out to be a 770. A higher essay score would probably be an 800 for writing. So basically my question is: is there a way for me to request that CB re-grade my essay?
Thank you

Yes and it will be 52 dollars.

Actually, I’m pretty sure that the essay rescore is just CB checking to see that the scores were inputted correctly. They will not be re-read, if I remember correctly. Post the essay on CC so we can see whether or not the 9 was a fair grade.

Here is the essay. Let me know what you think

haha same exact situation.

got 78 MC, a 9 on the essay, and 770 total writing score. i also thoguht i deserved at least a ten, but its too late to do anything now, anyway…

^ Yeah but its frustrating to know that with a decent essay score the it could have been an 800. So the consensus is that you cant ask that they rescore it?

im so upset. I got 80/80 on multiple choice, but 8 on essay, so it dropped 40 points.
FOURTY.
i went from a 2330 to a 2290. I really wanted to cross the 230, but no I had to miss it by 10 points because of my essay
what do i do :(((( should i retake ??
