Has anyone requested a rescoring of their ACT essay and what generally is the result?

I'm curious about this as well.
Bump!

I would if it weren't for the cost.

I have a feeling it would not do much good though. Keep in mind that two scorers grade each essay, and if there is I believe more than a 1 point difference in their scores, a third person comes in and scores it.

I personally feel that their 'criteria' for scoring is flawed, and they lend far too much weight to certain aspects of the essay than others, but I doubt a person's score is going to vary a lot from one ACT grader to the next.

I think it'd be interesting to see what a few high school English teachers would grade these 5's and 6's that a lot of us have been given by the ACT scorers though.

The ACT essay scorers ARE high school English teachers. And college composition and rhetoric teachers. Etc.

Now i'm even more confused than ever about the logic behind their scoring...
