Research at a different university??

Hi all!
I’m not sure if my question even makes sense, but I was wondering if anyone has or if it possible to do undergrad research at a different university?? The university I attend has great research opportunities, but there’s a school that does research that aligns with my future goals perfectly. Would it be acceptable if I asked my advisor if I could do research at the other university? Thank you!!

One route you could take is trying to secure a summer research job/internship/REU in your desired program; that way you’re not losing academic time in travel and research during the semester, while still building a relationship with the other institution, which can be useful for possibly going to grad school there. You will also likely be compensated for your time, which is always nice

Absolutely possible! Like GoatGirl19 said look into REU’s. Colleges actually prefer to have students from different campuses.

Also depending upon your field, an underutilized opportunity is the NIST SURF program.
