Research in areas outside engineering?

<p>I am planning on majoring in biomedical engineering, chemical engineering with a biology focus, or biophysics in college. However, I am currently during research in neuroscience, because also find it interesting (especially the math and comp sci in the specific area I am in), and there are no significant engineering programs in driving distance of my town. Will this discrepancy between my intended and actual interest areas hurt my chances in applying to BME or engineering specific programs (e.g. JHU BME)?</p>

<p>Thanks. The more I thought about it, it does show that you are dedicated to an area, and I think schools will care more about than what area you studied primarily.</p>
