Research in freshman year

<p>I am doing research this summer before my freshman year. Is this too early? Can I list things I have done before my freshman yr on the application? Is it a good idea to do research in freshman yr? By the way, I have been working on this research project since last summer. The paper is almost ready for publication. </p>

<p>Also, I am thinking of doing an internship or job-shadowing next summer because I will be finished with my project and paper. Does research before freshman yr and internship before soph. yr look odd to you or medical school?</p>
