Research Interview

Hey all,
So I did the epic professor email spamming, and luckily a few responded. One professor (Well, the lab manager, to be exact) said she was impressed by my resume and wanted to "invite me for a brief interview." I'm not sure what "brief" means exactly, so I have a simple question for any of you who have gone through an interview for a research position. Should I dress up nicely when going to the interview? If so, would a simple dress shirt and jeans suffice? Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I've actually been eying this specific research lab for some time, and I really dont want to !@#$ things up!

Thanks a bunch in advance.

congrats! dress shirt and jeans are fine. be prepared to demonstrate knowledge of all the stuff you claimed to know on your resume. you’d be surprised – we were interviewing potential lab techs who said they had experience in cloning/purifying protein/whatever but when pressed for details, they admitted they’d only done it once and didn’t understand what was going on.

what department is this for?

Thanks!
Its for the bio department. The topic is on protein misfolding. Hopefully they won’t grill me on too much technical stuff. :)
