<p>How easy is it to get undergraduate research experience at Stanford when compared to MIT or Caltech? Is it easy to get to know the professors at Stanford if you intend to major in engineering or science?</p>
<p>From my impressions last year when I was deciding between schools, I think the tech schools still offer an edge for getting undergrad research, just because there are so many professors in the techie fields. It's not too difficult at Stanford though, there are plenty of people I know doing research, even as freshmen. It's just a matter of being proactive and getting to know a professor well.</p>
