research or internship?

"I'm a junior but from enve eng. What do you write in your emails to the companies? I used to attach my resume with my initial email but now i ask if they have any summer positions available. If they do, i would then write my cover letter to them.

Do you do big companies or small ones?

I also found that if you email companies and they don't reply, if you try again in a month or so saying you never got a reply they're more likely to respond."

i dont send emails. i just go to their website, click the link for job openings and click on positions for internships that may suit me, then click on the option to send resume. they dont require you to send an email or submit your cover letter. some places its optional to submit your cover letter, but since i dont know how to write one, i dont submit it

i've done mostly big companies.

should i submit a cover letter even if the position doesnt even mention the applicant submitting one?

Definitely send a cover letter anyway.

is the fact that im not getting any offers because im not an engineering major and havent taken any engineering courses?

also, like my friend said, is it best to start talking to engineering profs which will lead to me getting references? isnt that awkward if i dont know any engineering profs to just approach one and ask what they know about, say boeing?
