Research Science Institute 2005

***ff i owned my second quarter grades and i didnt send anything... you guys who constantly update your apps are queers for having an unfair advantage over everyone, theres a reason for the deadline.

Well... I did contact CEE to ask whether I should send my transcript and SAT score report, and Maite told me to send them.

thank god your not in my state or id be really freaking mad, whats the point of a deadline if you can update your app whenever you want?

chill out...i'm sure they take into consideration that the deadline has passed

hmm...the anticipation is slowly turning into agressiveness and hostility
let's try to remaing calm and hopeful but not overly anxious

haha if it's like this now, I wonder how it will be after decisions comes out. I for one will probably leave.
my grades are always the same so there'd be no point to send them. besides, I hate bothering people and yeah DEADLINE means it's over.

Hey guys, I'm new here...

Lets get some final predictions of when decisions will be mailed. Or could they already have been mailed?....

Well - the very early admissions deadline does make it unfair. Some transcripts are updated with first semester junior grades by the RSI deadline, and some transcripts aren't. To even it out, it would help people in those districts that didn't send updated grades if they could send updated transcripts.

I think they could guess your grades from your old ones.

But what if you don't have good sophomore grades? What if your school didn't allow you to take any AP sciences until junior year?

Umm - yeah - I wouldn't get too anxious about RSI. You should expect to be rejected unless you are Tiankai Liu. If you're admitted, great, if not, hey - it's expected.

Hey everyone...especially those who are VERY COCKY...here is a lesson for everyone

None of us is a Count of Monte Cristo or J Alfred Prufrock...none of has "forseen to all those things that men call the vagaries of fate" nor has anyone here "measured their life in coffeespoons."

Therefore, i remind everyone to keep their pride and vanity to a minimum...

lol I already expect to be rejected. The key to happiness is low expecations. haha jk I am not a depressed teen or anything.
If your grades from 10th and 11th grade differ dramatically, it shows inconsistency.

Did I miss something? I thought that everyone was quite the opposite--very pessimistic.

--

ah, and btw, spyder, when I meant quoting verbatim I only meant

As for updating, I didn't send any updates, since verification of things came after the deadline.

--

Oh, zogoto, a friend of mine played a similar trick, but it was more amusing and much less believable.

He was in DC last week and called my cell phone @ 3 in the morning and left a voice mail. The message said that it was "RIS" calling to inform me of the "finalists" for this year, leading in with "Sunil [long pause] [insert foreign sounding name]" then with many other names (peppering the list with names that sounded asian) (my first name is Sunil).

I'm not sure if that made any sense, but it was quite funny; I can assure you of that.

I just realised there might be a good reason for someone to have performed differently. sorry if I offended anyone with a special circumstance!

dang dude, how many desis on this thread?

i meant nothing offensive (honestly)
SONAR, no u really didn't miss anything at all - my post was a premonition

hmm are you supposed to wear a suit to ISEF/ISEF-affiliated fair?

No idea, but the count in my school = 2. I wish we had more asians/middle-easterners in general.

Or... improvement or readiness to face increased challenge. Even RSI calibre-students can get really bored in school and stop trying.

Its not totally required for regional/state fairs, but almost everyone at isef wears a suit.

At regional/state, make sure to atleast wear a tie.
