how is this thread now on the third page?
spydertennis, CALIFORNIA is the best state in the country.

but youre so obviously wrong... what does california have? a bunch of high surfer dudes? thats cool and im down with that but when people are serious new york is the only way to go

I'll resist throwing in some pro-kansas comments....mostly because I don't have any

hahahah frankenchris, BE PROUD! lol.

So I got some questions. I bet the answers to these are lying around somewhere, perhaps on last year's threads, but what is RSI like up close and personal? What is a typical day like? Where do we live? Laundry?
Also, my parents are wondering this: how do we get from the airport to MIT?

hmm ok

Well a typical day starts out with you going to mentorship. When mentorship starts and ends completely depends on your mentor. Some of the math kids met with their mentor maybe a few times a week for a few hours, then the rest of the time they slept and sat under trees and did whatever math kids do. Some of the bio kids had to be at their lab across the river everyday at 8:00am everyday, they would leave around 5:00-6:00. Personally I got to lab everyday around 10:00-11:00 and then left around 5:00-8:00, depending on what I was working on and how close I was to a deadline.
Sometimes during the evening you'll have a lecture (in which case you'll need to be a suit/dress). On the weekends RSI will usually have something fun planned!

If you want to see the schedule from last year check out http://web.mit.edu/rsi/www/2004/schedule/long/

You'll all live in Simmons hall (I think), its the newest dorm on MIT and is very nice, although some people say it lacks culture.

As far as laundry, they have machines which take your MIT card, you'll use those =P

crap im a bio kid and i dont want to spend 10+ hours at the lab!!
oh well thats the price you pay for rsi its hardcore
suits? dude i dont even own a suit, thats not how i roll, is it really mandatory?
whats the deal with walking around the town? can we just take off whenever we want to?

Rules for Assassins:
To kill your target, simply say, "You're dead," to your target. The assassination attempt fails if any student, living or dead, hears or sees it. Being seen or heard by a staff member does not invalidate the kill.
You cannot kill your target at anyone's mentorship, in a bathroom, or at an RSI guest lecture.
You cannot resort to violence (including grabbing or pushing) against a person to kill your target.
When a student is killed, he or she tells the killer his or her target; that person becomes the killer's new target unless it is the killer, in which case the killer is the only player remaining alive and has won the game.

*** mate

yes, suits ARE required, regardless of if its how you roll or not :-P

Mrs. D (the president of CEE) was supposedly a fashion major. There's a story of some kid that came to Mrs. D's lecture late and wearing jeans one day, and after RSI we was rejected from every college he told RSI to send a recommendation too.... RSI can help you a tremendous amount in pursing you education, but make RSI mad, and you're in some BIIIIG trouble :-P

I don't think that could actually happen. Rejected from every college for wearing jeans?! LOL. Do we have dry cleaning opportunities?

"how do we get from the airport to MIT?"
a nobody will pick you up from the airport :) ahh so exciting!
I'll be there for Hell Week you guys!

"suits? dude i dont even own a suit, thats not how i roll, is it really mandatory? whats the deal with walking around the town? can we just take off whenever we want to?"

suits are necessary when you are listening to all of those NOBEL LAUREATE seminars given PERSONALLY to rickoids. How awesome is that huh?! You get to eat dinner and talk to nobel laureates. I never got my suit dry clean during RSI. You can go wherever you feel like. Just don't end up dead!! As frankenchris pointed out, DO NOT, and i repeat, DO NOT make your mentor, tutor, or director mad because you WILL NOT GO TO COLLEGE.

and a benefit of being a rickoid:

:) you have the options of turning down some of the best institution in this nation

whats the deal with that assasination thing?

assassins is a game! A very fun one might I add. I'm too lazy to explain anymore than that.

too lazy? dude thats not an excuse, its something people say cause they want to seem cool cause for some reason its cool to be lazy, tell me what assassins is.

lol wow spydertennis....

Ok so I find this thread on the 5th page...WHATS UP WITH THAT. Oh well I just have one question, does anyone know for sure if xinerz got in or not? I haven't seen her on this board for a long time...

cool to be lazy? what a silly philosophy.
there's a circle of targets one must kill, when you kill your target, you take their target
now you can read the rsi page to figure out the rest...

this is on the 5th page? it looks to be on the 63th page to me.

whats the point then? should i start assasinating people as soon as i get there?
Hi, my name is Joey!
You're dead Joey.
Aahhhhhhh

nah, you get assigned a target. and the point is to make you stalk random people, hehhehheh

aahh so excited! I can't wait until we get more info!
