It's extended to March 1 for international applicants...still Feb. 1 for U.S. people though

I think this extension is a way to give all the procrastinators some time to proof read their stuff! I know if I hadn't had it my app would have been so crappy it could of been rejected, USE THE EXTENSION! (it says it here http://www.cee.org/apps/rsi/start.jsp)

The site says that they must have everything by the 9th. So it seems that the old deadline, Feb 1, was a postmark deadline, but the new deadline, Feb 9, is one where CEE must have received it.

That means that we only get a few more days (safely) to polish the applications--unless you spring for overnight delivery.

\/\/007!!! Thanks for telling about the extension. Now I'll actually have time to remember to make time to fill out the application!

YOU JUST SAID \/\/007!

Random^4, you are in! :-P

I'm done with mine (yay), now all I need to do is send it in.
Frankenchris1, I never did hear what you thought of the document I sent you.

oh yeah i finally read it today during a class!

Pretty cool, really taught me some stuff, and it motivates to continue my scheme learning.

And LaTeX at its finest :-)

GJ! (I'll hold further comments to keep this thread on subject!)

Thanks. Especially since I spent over a month just figuring out how to write it and present everything properly.

I emailed CEE and asked if it's ok to send an entire paper, and they said please not to, but should I send it anyway just in case and to show that I am motivated and really want to get in? I know of at least 1 rickoid who sent in tons of stuff. coughstaticcough.

I'm including mine, regardless. (Err... partly because its already sent)

lol i'm offended. if you're going to ask me about it, don't go ask CEE, then don't go onto CC and ask everyone. it's redundant

Haha sorry static don't be offended. A lot of my friends at school and such were making me paranoid since they were talking about how the RSI ppl would probably get mad if you sent them it, so I just decided to ask CEE. If I send it, will they remember that I asked them and they said no and I sent it anyway or will they just think that I didn't know any better? Sorry again static, paranoia is a bad thing.

ahh don't be crazy and paranoid, but openly defying the wishes of CEE will only bring death upon you! Of course if they don't know who it was that asked..... :-P

Honestly, if you include it, you might just make them do the extra work of throwing into the trash can. But it would defiantly show them you're trying... Either it way won't have too much of an effect :-)

The application says "In your fields of interest, please state what you see as the three to five most interesting questions/problems and why they are interesting to you." Does this mean 3-5 questions total or 3-5 EACH?
I apologise, if this has already been answered but I haven't read all 29 pages :D

bluephish, go back one page.

so.... no paper with app?

also, those 3-5 questions. mine aren't really "WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO THE EARTH IF THE OZONE DEPLETES AWAY?" type.. it's more like problems that should be solved.... is that okay if it's not in "question" format?

thanks guys :)...I'm done!

ahhhh so frankenchris do you think I should include it??? It IS a SW Regional finalist paper. If worse comes to worst then I will just include the abstract, but do you think it would be okay to send it? Gahhh I never should have emailed them.

how many people last year could solve the Rubik's cube and the 4x4x4 cube? just wondering if that might possibly make me stand out or if it's a regular thing...

i think rubik's is a fairly common thing. i know a buncha kids who can solve that thing (not me, i'm too lazy to attempt) what's your timing on the rubik's?

4x4x4 is hard... some of my friends can do 3/4 layers (Ed floor of purdue).

=) sorry i'm not of much help, i'm not a former rickoid, although i want to be one ^^
