"hey staticsoliloquy, how many Vietnamese were there at RSI?"
1, me.

"are you saying you're an egg?"
^^ i'm taiwanese...... i thought eggs were white on the outside yellow on the inside

hrm, does anyone know where i could get state statistics? like the number of ppl that got in from each st?

hmm, that's very interesting staticsoliloquy. maybe RSI isn't barred from racial circumstances after all...maybe they take into light a diverse RSI body. can anyone confirm this? does RSI take into light people's racial/demographic circumstances?

oo, cool xinerz. I'm Taiwanese too.

Responding to jthecanadian...

I really don't think they do, especially considering they don't ever ask for your race on the application. Immigration and demographics might serve to show how much you've achieved and have done for yourself, but all are RSI people are awesome. No one got in that wouldn't have been accepted if they where of a different race or background.

RSI's decision will NOT be affected by your race/background!

hehe that was post #666! :-D

no... we must stop the spams! Spams! SPAMS!

uh... sorry i'm quote on quote "spamming" the board.... but am i allowed to ask another question?

Just to clarify things, since no one gave me a definite answer back then, it IS okay to send a paper, right? They won't think less of you?

No. of course not. It's always better to show yourself as aggresive. They are humans too u know.

No. of course not. It's always better to show yourself as aggresive. They are humans too u know.
^^ yes, i know. but is it okay if i sent my paper from last year........? will they actually take the time to 'read' it?

Yes. Human beings are curious enough to read last years paper.

mkay, thanks. were you a rickoid too?

nope. But i'm a professional psychologist. I know humans! :O

6 rickoids made it into INTEL STS FINALS :)

On the question about the "most interesting questions/problems", can the problems come from the larger fields that we list, or just the specific subfields? It refers to "fields" in the prompt, so I assume that it's the former, but I want to be careful.

Personally, I enumerated some of interesting problems in my area of interest as well as some of the more interesting, ongoing, current, research projects in the area that I specified that happen to be in the Boston/Cambridge area

it's all very personal =)

I just put stuff under my sub-fields... is it ok to have most of the stuff under one field and only one under another? my guess is, it's ok...
