"should ur first and second choice of field and subfield be in different fields. Is it alright if both choices are dealing with 1 field, like Physics:Theoretical (for first field and subfield) and Physics:Particle (for second field and subfield)"

it's fine if they're in the same field. Mine was Biochemistry: Enzyme, Genes, and Proteins.

"esoteric vs. generic??" how about interesting? whichever one you find more interesting would be the best one.

AND GUYS, I DID OVERNIGHT DELIVERY BECAUSE I FINISHED IT 2ND TO LAST DAY OF THE DEADLINE. That is why overnight delivery exist. for procrastinators like ourselves :)

For the SAT score verification, does it have to be a copy of one of the ones they actually mail you, or can it be printed from online?
^^ my transcript had all my scores (not aps) but i photocopied the collegeboard report they sent me to my home and highlighted the scores i wanted them to see (since it also has SAT II scores from previous takings)

haha guys, yall can seriously just call me xine. =)

Is there a difference between the online app and paper app? How can you do an online app if they need signatures and stuff? I am a little lost as to what the advantages/disadvantages of each are and which I should do.

Alright so I'm a little confused about how to send it. It says to send it from school, and that I need an official transcript. Does that mean I get everything ready (minus the transcript) and then give it to my counsellor, who puts the transcript in and then mails it, or who puts the transcript in and then give it to me to mail?? Also, only one copy of the transcript is required right? I would appreciate it if someone could make the sending process a little clearer. Thanks!

So what does "official transcript" mean? My counsellor said that means that they send it to the school directly in an envelope, but that doesn't seem like its what CEE wants us to do.

Also, I would really like if I could get a decision on whether or not it would be wise to send them a copy of my SW paper, even though I emailed them and asked and they said please no...:(

You can have your school seal the thing in an envelope, have the transcript be labeled as "official" and put the envelope in a big envelope with the rest of the application. That's what I'm doing.

As for the paper, you can probably just send them the abstract.

Personally, I wouldn't send the entire paper, especially if they specifically asked me not to. Of course, I am not RSI alum, and I have no research experience whatsoever.

Just explain to them that you researched something.

Another question as the deadline approaches: is it better to say I have 50/50 on this monthly math competition or a 71/75 (cuz round 3 just came in)

To be honest, I don't think the 50/50 or 71/50 will be too terribly important. They're both good scores for the USAMTS. I'd put 71/75 just because its the most up to date one.

A 71 is not really that good. It's a take home math exam. With enough time (and I spend A LOT of time on it) anyone should be able to get that high.

seriously zogoto, stop stressing out over this! it's all all right, and everything will work out, mkay? =) (not to mention we answered some of these questions a couplo pages ago)

lol ya. I don't kno their official titles, but some secretary-like people just put ours in envelopes with a seal. I wouldn't put something they asked not to...these people have to go through a lot of applications :

Are any of you submitting a resume with your application?
And yeah haha I'm stressing out over this sort of but I REALLY WANT TO GET IN!! Research opportunities are scarce to none in my state/area. I pretty much hate it here. I take college classes and do internships but nothing is enough. RSI is the only way.
