Isn't that incorrect capitalization?...

Hey, if i applied to RSI for the humanities sector, which they DO have--I guess i have a slight advantage seeing as how no one usualyl aplies there? [Psych/Poli Sci Research, in case you're wondering]

I literally couldn't have done some of the formatting that I needed to do consistently (the algorithm descriptions) without LaTex.

schemer, i was joking. you nerd =P
(ah yes, physixxing)

new yorker: so what ARE the sections at rsi? what all do they have?

actuall it is the Official capitalization. Its done that way partly to avoid the issue of the name latex being trademarked. (I personally think that the \LaTex command looks very cool in a document)

xinerz--it's in the APP, humanities, math, physics, engineering, i dunno. It has to be a SCIENCE, Lmfao!

sorry new yorker, i didn't read the app all the way through....

xine: I'm not zogoto ....

I think that bluephish may have been saying that "latex" is not a misspelling of "LaTex" but an incorrect capitalization.

Then again, I may be wrong.

newyorker: I think that humanities is viable, and I was considering it (political game theory).

Don't apologize, that was the onyl part i read! =)

Um, didn't they say they let you in and then match you up? Yes, that is what I meant.

I am not sure of that, but the app says, "Should you be accepted, this information will be used to place you with a research mentor."

Off-note: It's nice to see that I am not the only one losing a Friday night to procrastination.

let's worry about being accepted first yall.... atleast i'm worrying about being accepted first THEN i'll worry about what i'll be researching fat chance

"didn't they say they let you in and then match you up?" What I meant by that was that I don't think they let you in if you have a category they don't have a lot of applicants under.
the thingy says you take classes in the humanities but it doesn't mention research or mentors in the humanities, as far as I've read.

"if i applied to RSI for the humanities sector, which they DO have--I guess i have a slight advantage seeing as how no one usualyl aplies there?"

what...lol i went to rsi04 and i don't remember anyone doing humanities research. There was a rickoid who did a psychology project with Professor Wolfe at Harvard. We have one week of humanities class. That was fun. We had to read Frankenstein...and that is where frankenchris got his...screen name :)

sigh! memories!

I'm debating whether or not I should make a (risque) joke now that we've gotten the LaTex capitalization disambiguation out of the way.

haha that's fun! ^_^ (to stat)
I think psychology is more of a lab sciencey thing than any of the other humanities. nod

I guess that's iof you use the laboratory setting, of course. ;)

Shouldn't it be "LaTeX" (capitalizing the X also) to be completely correct?

Good luck in your RSI applications.

Nah, haven't App'd yet, next year I will...heh

LaTeX is so hard to even download....or seems that way..I don't get the instructions..me=semi-brained

hrm, silly me. (I really should cease attempting cogitation on friday nights)
