Research Science Institute 2005

:( Everyone made fun of me today. lol oh well I deserve it.

Does anyone know if you can send in SAT II Scores to them? I did surprisingly well on the SAT II Writing and although it probably isn't an important test, can I still send it to them and how should I do it?

patpat I'm sure a lot of people make fun of me somewhere.

hey did WE have to HAVE it SENT by the school? I mailed it via priority mail with my name on it? Is that OK?

I think people were saying it was to attatch your high school record and get it signed by the principal like it says in the application...

I think you'll be good... as long as your transcript is in some sealed or signed envelope, its fine... I hope! After all who knows what RSI wants =P

tis okay.... don't stress. hakuna matada! =)

This might be a ridiculous question, but was it a bad idea for me to ask one of my freshmen teachers for a rec, instead of one that I have this year (I've had 3 science teachers and 1 math teacher, and I don't know the two that I didnt have write nearly as well as the two that I did have, even if that one was a freshman teacher.--Also, both of my fields were Physics, thus I did have the Physics teaher write, but Chem and Bio seem equally distant from Astronomy...) Did I mess up?

um I think you're fine. I'd think they'd rather have a letter from a teacher who knows you well than one who doesn't...?

Naw, I think the recs are more so the RSI people can see what kind of person you are and how into all this you are. I don't think they expect your teachers to vouch for how good you are in your field.

Is it possible to send SAT scores in?

yeah...I hope my teachers wrote good things! I am always really good in class because I like learning so...
I think someone said to call them and tell them you would be sending scores and then mail them? not sure

Are they open weekends or should I simply wait until Monday?

And also, what do I mail..? CEE doesn't have a College Board address thingy, and I won't get the actual score report for a few weeks.

I guess you wait? shrug I have no clue. Where are those alumni?

at worst, print out the score thing from collegeboard and send it I guess.

well, do you think it's going to SIGNIFICANTLY make it or break it for you?

i think teach recs are for them to see how good you are in the classroom, what others think of you not just from your own essays.

Ah, im not stressing. I got my official school transcript and scores signed by myy guidance counselors and the principal's signature. I hope they would infer that my school sends things via priority mail, even though i affixed the labels saying it was sent from me. W/e...if it happens, it happens! :)

lol I somehow don't think they disqualify people for not having their school mail it...
zogot, do whatever makes YOU feel comfortable. ;)

zogoto: If you won't get your scores untill after the deadline theres nothing you can do accept send the app without the scores.

HOWEVER, you are quite capable of updating CEE/RSI on your situation later. A brief and kind email saying what your new scores are and perhaps a attached scan of the score report, would be all they need. I know a few people did this to report their AMC score, but I wouldn't recommend too many people do this, CEE doesn't exactly like it, but if its somethig you need and something you believe should be in your app, then go for it.

This might be a bad question, and it is sad that I need to worry about it, but does by the 9th mean that they can get it ON the 9th or does it need to be before. I wont be able to get all of the stuff until tuesday morning, so I was planning on overnighting it to get there ON the 9th. Is this fine???????

STOP WORRYING! on the 9th is fine, that what it always means.

WATCH THE SUPER BOWL! GO patriots! =P

OMG you're cheering for the pats????? shame on you.....lol I like the Iggles.
