Thanks. You Made My Day. Let That Be Peace Of Mind For You And Me. Talk To You Soon.

lol yup. These people seem nice...

Of course they're NICE! =D

page 57. . . i wonder when this gonna reach trip digits

American Invasion,
we might just get to TRIPLE DIGITS since everyone who applied may want to discuss his or her prospects of being accepted for the RSI summer program.

i might jump off a cliff if it does

oO jump off a cliff if the page goes triple digits? dramatic pause ...no don't do it! lol jk

...my mechatronics teacher said he wrote some bad stuff about me in the rec letter clonk

some bad stuff
^^ he was, of course, joking, right?

well doesn't the rec letter ask the teacher to assess the candidate's biggest strengths AND weaknesses?

lol I suppose so but he made it seem like it was bad because he didn't say anything like "Oh, I didn't make you look too bad." or anything remotely comforting. He made it sound like I should have asked someone else for the recommendation...BAH

atleast you know how your teaches wrote yours. i have absolutely NO IDEA how they wrote mine. i hardly ever see my past ap chem teach and my past math teach has never said a word about it except for the fact that she had to reduce the font to make it 1 page. shrugs what's done is done... sigh now for the tortuous waiting of that dismal rejection letter........

bah whatever. I'll just focus on other camps...like ones that like minorities cuz I guess that's the only way I'll get anywhere in life BAH haha unless I become a sheep in a hit movie BAAAHHH

I am a sophomore in Michigan who is in Physics, AP Chem, and AP Calc already. I scored a 204 on the PSAT(76M) this year and have had distinction in other various math competitions in the last couple of years, including a gold medal in the United States Middle School Math Olympiad. I currently do some research on graphy theory in my spare time. Considering I further this research and earn more science and math awards/medals by next year, how are my chances for being admitted to RSI junior year looking statilosquy???

i know your post ain't directed at me.... but no one knows what rsi wants....

lol ya your chances of getting in are a secret.

well I'm not static, but all I can say is that theres nothing that would directly keep you from getting in... But thats true for most people that apply. Its all about YOU and what other people think of you. We can't judge you on that.

Also, its a year away! You're going to change in that time. Why do you even know about RSI so far before the deadline? Go relax! =P

lol I'm not on the admission board. I don't think I've ever "evaluated" anyone's chance because I don't want to either discourage them or give them a false sense of hope. Do what you love because you love doing it. I can say that I didn't do research because I wanted to get into college.

anyone interested- plz see my science ethics post a little way down on this board...

You should tell the truth. Otherwise it'll haunt you forever regardless of whether or not you get in trouble, which you probably will. I know it's hard because most people say "It's not lying/cheating if everyone does it." But it's still lying/cheating. You could just be the only person to come clean.
It's important for scientists to hold a high moral standard to keep the respect of the profession in tact and because you could be holding someone's life in your hands someday.
