Research Science Institute 2005

it's not that hard to have a page a day, and there're 13 pages to go.

i guess my options are different or something. i have this thread at 44 pages.

fRiT0: If they said that, why go to RSI? With those skillz, you should start your own cult! Just make sure you're always the last one to drink the cool-aid.

Wrathofgood: me too, most people have it on the defaullt, which is 20 posts per page, we have it on 40 posts per page :-)

Count down time! tick-tock-tick-tock!

The first person here that can post (truthfully) claiming they got their notification will be awarded the frankenchris medal of geekery, 1st class.

wishful_thinker posted: "rsi sends out letters. thick for admits, thin for rejects or wait-lists"

you mean they sent it out yesterday (Friday) and we will receive the letters on Monday? How do you find out?

I am so nervous..............

puddinggirl, in one of Matt Mcgann's latest blog entries, he specifically states that the RSI letters are not coming out on pi day. And considering that Saturday is not a work day, i think there is little hope of the letters being mailed out today. Therefore, the earliest the letters will be mailed out is Monday next week (pi day). Of course, this is all pure speculation :)

ah,, can't wait, although i will be getting rejection letter, i just want to get this waiting over with.

^^ aye aye.....

Hmm...the prep school thread is catching up 0.0

yeah, hopefully they send it soon, but you want them to take their time to fully evaluate your qualities.

I am in my sophomore year in high school. I really want to get into RSI 2005.
I haven't done a lot of exemplary science stuff like big competitions, but I do participate in all the science clubs and organizations at my school. I would like to know what i can do to improve my chances. Can you or other alumni help me. These are some of the tings i have done. I am also going to do research at haverford college this summer w/ prof Jenni Punt(immunology). I am also my school's only Hugh O’ Brian Youth Leader and attending a National Srudent Leadership conference. Also I applied for governor's school in Global entrepreneurship and agricultural sciences- i think i might get it. Sorry if this is really long- this is the first time i've ever posted. Thanks for your help!

wishful_thinker, ur confusing the decisions for RSI and MIT. Matt knows very little about the status of RSI decisions because he doesn't work for CEE. For MIT decisions, however, he said they were sent out 3/11, but he doesn't say anything definite or conclusive about RSI decisions.

wow...you're right wrathofgod64.... my mistake. i just deleted that post....

ne14tennis, i'm not a pro at this but what are your test scores?
from the majority that i read, it's all about how you portray yourself...no one knows "the ticket" to get in but everyone who DOES get in is amazing. outright amazing. either way, go for it.

and i <3 tennis also. you seem quite busy, how do you manage your time?

its tough.. lot of late night studying... some of the stuff was last year though.. like student government and stuff. thanx for ur reply

NE14tennis, if you're a sophomore now, don't you mean RSI 2006?

wow, i'm just counting the days until my rejection letter

At the risk of stirring up a controversy: Taiwan is not a country. How did you like the new SAT?

I truly hope that all of us get in! Rejection is hard, I know, but, let us go on with our lives if we recieve one, shall we?

i know that for me at least rejection will be pretty hard cuz i've been wanting to go to rsi for a really long time. however, i do believe that i'll be better in a week or two and i'll be able to go on with my life normally.

i just took the new SAT today, it wasn't bad, just long

New SAT felt like exactly the same length as the old SAT. I got out at the same time...
I'll live with rejection, of course. I'll be sad for a while shrug then I'll move on and do stuff. and if I don't get in, I already have a plan for what I'm going to do this summer as backup. The only reason I wanted to go was to do research for fun, and I can do that here too...
