i don't think we'll necessarily "laugh" at ourselves because we are worrying about something would have nothing to with anything 10 years from now. this is part of the experience of competiting when we're at the age of trying to get to the best colleges; and sometimes, this is where the "good times" come from.

I think the way to look at it is that RSI was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and we've done the best thing we could have done -- taken advantage of it. So congratulations to everyone!

well...i understand this, I was simply trying to assert that maybe we shouldn't worry so much as to the point where all we think about is rsi. I don't want anyone to think that these are not where "good times" come from, because I my self have had a great time watching this thread unfold to something more than simply another admissions post. So please do not think i do not feel the same way you or others do about this subject, I simply wanted to provide a point of optimism. if this conflicts with any of your beliefs please feel free to tell

I agree that our lives don't/shouldn't revolve around RSI, but it's natural and human to feel anxious at times like these. Luckily, I have Czech Suite to worry about right now ^^.
I just hope it comes before April. It bothers me waiting extra for rejection because if it's that late, you know it's rejection.

We're all good people, all our futures look bright, and I'm sure all of us are destined to success. I just wished they'd hurry up this process. Sending mail is so 1999. :D

hahaha^ very nice. SNAIL mail still?

i guess they want to preserve the excitment of opening the mailbox.

lol I guess. but what if your parent opens the mailbox? I'd rather see the rejection FIRST.

Heres to hoping they arrive tomorrow!

well then i don't know. but wouldn't it be more awesome to come home to a big envelope than opening your email?

Nah, emails still cool. One day afterschool last year I was opening my email and I see

Congratulations on your acceptance to MathCamp!

I was pretty excited, the mail wouldnt have made a difference.

nah mail is better, big envelopes rock my world

and my socks

Tetrahedr0n, I asked on a different thread, but how did the AIME/AMC go for you? And did the USAMTS round 4 own you as badly as it owned me? Also, how hard is it to get into things like MathCamp and PROMYS and Ross??

zogoto, don't discuss round 4 until the 21st ;)

We're not even allowed to discuss difficulty? I know you can't discuss the difficulty of AMC's and AIME's since if someone that has taken it already and is known to be bad at geometry gets a perfect score or something, ppl can assume there isn't much geometry, but I don't see that problem in the USAMTS. Oh well, in any case, how was the AIME?

I believe that I remember Mr. Rusczyk saying not to discuss difficulty level, how one did, et cetera, of a round while a round was still in progress. I assume that this holds during the week where no disucussion is permitted.

happy bday sonar

ah, thank you very much, wrathofgod!

If only the letters and come out this week and mine had been an acceptance. That would easily be the best birthday present--ever.
