I guess no ISEF for me.....

What happened?

not sure,
I'm thinking it was a combination of several of the judges not really knowing much about the topic(and one who was a real @$$), me mentioning that something very similar is mentioned in the literature, the fact that despite the fact that there were only 4 projects in the CS category, one was an intel semifinalist and another had more buzzwords than you can shake a stick at. Finally there there were 300 other projects at the regional, many of which were far less abstract in their applicability.

Suffice to say that I'm not particularly happy. Though I guess I can understand from the fact that I didn't come up with anything fundamentally new with what I did. On the other hand, can I live down the shame that a sophomore from my school made it to ISEF (as well as several seniors) and I didn't? I hope so.

Next year I'm afraid I won't be as understanding, as what I'm doing for next year I think will be publishable.

I could use a hug right now.

I'd hug you. Hmmm...considering my proximity, I could hug you non-virtually as well. Wish me luck Saturday, I will find out whether I will be going to ISEF then...

Meh, the "new game" thread's already passed us.

schemer, maybe you'll get into RSI ^.^ so much cooler than ISEF.

yeah i got rejected from ISEF and a bunch of other stuff has also gone wrong for me... im hoping an RSI acceptance will pull me out of my slump... Murphy's Law of Averages right?

i forgot to wear green today. actually i couldn't...we had a presentation to a sewage company today (we had an engineering project where we had teams and acted like contractors trying to get a project by developing a bid, etc.)...so i was very brown though (lol not counting my skin).

any news anyone? my mailbox's empty (well...besides the "come to our college even though you've never heard of us" letters...)

i went into the rain to check the mail but all i got were fpl bills...oh and coupons

i e-mailed somebody at cee, and they are not even done with the decisions completely..

she said that she would receive the decisions soon in order for them to be sent out to the students..

so i guess you guys should just wait for the 31st deadline; ah... i don't like this nervous time of waiting..!!

Aaaah! Two more weeks!

yeah, even though it's the 31st, it's only 2 weeks away.

i won't even be home the 31st -- i have an envirothon comptn. ughhh i hope it comes in earlier...even if it's just the rejection letter

Hopefully it comes before Good Friday--that's all I want. If i get accepted, it will be a GOOD Friday!

I think we should be patient...
I forgot to wear green too! Nobody pinched me though. :)

PINCH

Google reminded me it was St. Pattie's day today! what would we do with out google =)

hehe I don't own anything green at all, so you can pinch me!

argh. even though I keep telling myself I'll be rejected, I still make sure to go out and check the mail every day (and get nothing but dumb college mail).

well i got reminded that it was st. patty's day because i DID get pinched. i happened to be sandwiched b/t my two friends drenched in green -- lucky me.

is anybody here on a robotics club?

Dualityim, you're in proximity? I wasn't aware of that

omg i LOVe google...it's so cute. every time there's a holiday, it makes a new graphic...

"is anybody here on a robotics club?"

Aye.
