hey, i know! let's create a fictional rsi applicant who has worse odds than any of us! it'll make us all feel better. So here's how it works: everyone post one more criteria for said applicant: must be worse than your respective stat. Also, we need a name/life story/etc.

550 Math sat 1

380 sat ii math level 2
1.7 GPA (uw and w are the same)
haven't taken chem and or physics in high school, got a d in biology.

no science/math ecs.

Does not have David in their name.

has committed a felony.

Has very weak abdominal muscles. :P

Writes angsty poetry regularly, and used one of the poems as the essay for question #2 on the application.

Does anyone know if hearing from RSI on the 21st last year was an anomaly? Is it usually closer to the 31st?

Around the 31st appears to be more normal. Last year was the 22nd, 06 was the 30th and 05 was the 28th, I believe.
(I'm named David...hopefully that gets me in)

supported the kansas school board in their noble quest to put ID in the bio curriculum

heading back to china now... xD missing RSI results... i'd be checking out the forum there, and see how many of you got in! xD (thus increasing anticipation index)

Okay, so let's review the stats for our fictional applicant. He/she got only 550on the Math section of the SAT I, and a 380 on SAT II Math Level 2. His/her GPA is 1.7, with no weighted courses, and the candidate has taken no science other than basic biology, which he/she almost failed. The candidate has never participated in science or math extracurriculars, is definitively not named David, has committed a felony, and is physically unfit for the propagation of his/her genes. Furthermore, the candidate turned in poorly written poetry instead of an essay and supported putting intelligent design in the Kansas biology curriculum.

Despite all of this, if he or she can demonstrate a great "passion for science," his/her odds could still be better than ours. :P At least, according to the CEE people.

Tomorrow is the 21st.

Happy Iranian New Year, everyone!

Less than 10 days until results! But I gave up on any chance of getting in right after I sent in my application, so no pressure.

the crap applicant has a 3.0 uw gpa, and a 2.0 weighted gpa

i think its the chocolate bar i just ate...but im incredibly nervous

"aide shomah mobarak!"
Happy Naw-Ruz!

(now, wouldn't an acceptance to rsi be a great gift?)

the hypothetical but probably true "crap" applicant snorts drugs, and left a packet of coke inside when he sealed the envelope to RSI

I don't think the decisions will come early this year. When I contacted them, they said that decisions are not finalized yet.

It would be a pretty awesome gift. 1500 of those gifts (for everyone) would be even more awesome.

Did anyone else try to balance an egg? Although I'm sure most people would have been asleep at the exact time it happened.

no, but the orange moved
