Hi guys! @absoluteMIT Sorry, I meant to say that I was a semifinalist in Siemens in 2012, not regional finalist. I will not reveal my name, but I think you can figure out who I am.

@sciencechamp24

Hmm. I really canât cause I still canât find any names on the Siemens Finalist page that actually appears in the pamphlet or the google spreadsheet. Sorry. Anyways, greenbat are you saying that you made it, or that you simply confirmed that they received your package.

@absoluteMIT I donât think they would release decisions that early, would they? XD anyways mine just said âRSI app received!!! -CEEâ. Idk. They sounded enthusiastic hehehe.

oh okay, cause the way greenbat said it, it was like he already got accepted :P.
Also, they probably think youâre the best candidate hehe.

i received my postcard back, saying they received it, which means that i was accepted into the camp! mayee107 congrats to you too! pm me and we can be friends before we get to camp!

Okay, that definitely has no logic behind it. In what way does âreceiving an applicationâ => that you made the camp O.o Also I have never heard of anyone getting accepted earlier than the released date :P. I really do think youâre misinformed.

@absoluteMIT As a fellow MOSPer, I am a bit offended that you do not remember me. Of course I may not remember you as well (unless you reveal your name), but you should have some kind of idea. I assure you that my credentials are valid and I also checked the websites such as Siemens to make sure my name is still there. I hope we can resolve our differences in a peaceful and diplomatic manner and I hope to see you at RSI.

Also @greenbat I received my postcard too! See you there!

âŠstill with the postcard decisionâŠ

Wow guys, just because you got your postcard back it doesnât mean that you got accepted. It just means that your application was successfully received. How is CEE supposed to review thousands of applications in a couple of days? And why was the postcard optional? I agree with absoluteMIT, it is obviously not an indicator if you got into the program or not, it just allows you to know that your application was received.

@AbsoluteMIT Hi Kevin Li, I am still surprised and offended that you do not remember me from MOSP. Please apologize immediately.

@indianboy2400 It seems like I canât respond to PMs because I donât have 15 posts yet. So Iâll just post my reply here (sorry, everyone else feel free to disregard this): I sent my mail with Priority Mail. It hasnât been updated either. However, when I called this morning, the lady at the post office said that they didnât have anything addressed for CEE at the post office. It might be possible that our applications were delivered and the mail carrier simply forgot to scan the tracking number, or something else happened that caused our pages not to be updated. Of course, the other extreme could be that our applications were lost, so⊠yeah.

@sciencechamp24 okay I have literally no right to be intervening, but letâs not be so confrontational, shall we? Letâs also try to keep confidentiality unless the person discussed wishes his or her name be known :)

@cosmtig YeahâŠI hope thatâs the case. I heard its happened multiple times before. I sent my mail with Priority Mail as well, and your friends said they sent their mail via Express Mail, so maybe that is the difference. I really hope that they havenât gotten lost.

@sciencechamp24 I second mayee107âs requestâŠkeep everyoneâs information private, and if you get into RSI, you can be besties and share names and other personal info there! :D

@indianboy2400
So, have there been any instances of early acceptances?

@sciencechamp

sigh, first you say you want to be diplomatic about it, and then only a couple posts later you attempt to publicly reveal who I really am, and even demand an apology from me. Just think about that for a minute.

@mayee107 First off, thanks for your comment about confidentiality. Second the I know that acceptances arrive by mail in the form of an envelope/letter, and definitely not part of a post card. Example letters of acceptance and rejection can be found here:

Sorry to interrupt your discussions, but now that applications are in I just have to say âthank youâ to everyone who contributed to this thread (especially to LuoSciOly and other alums). While I really want to get into this program as it is a great opportunity for my research, I canât say that the whole application process would have been a waste if Iâm not accepted. The assistance Iâve received through these threads has really helped me to solidify my long-range goals as well as teach me how to write some decent applications essays. So thanks. Iâd say âgood luck to you allâ, butâŠ

are you guys sure that the postcard doesnât mean acceptance?! i just went around thanking all the teachers who wrote me recommendation letters uh oh⊠iâm so upset right now⊠i needed this camp so much oh my god what am i going to do o_O

SJSF01, good point. Thank you everyone for all your help! Though I guess weâre competing for the same spots, I still want to wish you guys well, so good luck everyone! :)

Good luck to everyone! :)

Also, theyâve been emailing (not snail-mailing) decisions for the past couple of years, so unless they change that for this year (which seems unlikely), expect an email in your inbox in March!

@greenbat: yeahâŠthe postcard does not mean acceptance. Sorry. Donât worry though; based on your stats, you have a pretty high chance of acceptance! (I think.) Good luck!
