Hey I've seen so many people on here talking about researching this and that and I've become quite curious.

I realize that you can do it if you get into things like RSI and such, but seeing all the rejects on those threads, I bet I'd be joining them if I applied.

How do you get these research opportunities everyone here talks about? If you've had this experience, what did you research? How is a high school student erudite enough to do research?

I would assume in most cases one just assists a professor, in this case, what do you do?

Thanks for the help guys.

Get in touch with a professor at a college near you.

Or in some cases, apply to the local research clinic. I live in Cleveland, where it is possible to get research internships if one is a rising senior for the year in a special system.

I've got a few colleges near me, so I can do that.

What kinds of research can a high school student do? I mean, seriously, why would someone with a doctorate in the subject need me?

When you say to contact professors, do you mean ask to help them with their own research, ask them to supervise your own research, or either?

ya you guys, I've been wondering how to do this also. Im in the NY area so if any of you have done reaserch around here PM me. I want to do some research I'm just not sure what or where.

I'm pretty much asking because I prefer a more interactive approach to school.

Worksheets, stupid directional labs, and multiple choice tests just aren't doing it for me.
