Does anyone know how freshmen can get into research opportunities at UF?

What field are you interested in?

e.g: Chemistry, Microbiology, Pharmcology, Biochemistry, Biomaterials, etc

Basically any sort of biology field, specifically animal science.

Also look up professors that are doing research you are interested in and email make them and see if you joing their lab.

at any school, the best way for freshmen to get involved in research is to email a bunch of professors saying you are interested in their work and want to know if they have any need for assistance on any projects they are working on. even if its something as mundane as data entry, it will be an important stepping stone to get to conduct your own research as an upperclassman

I would never start that low, I started as a research assistant my first year, helping a grad student with her project. I then moved up and had my own project.
