I received my SAT Subject Test scores for the January Test a couple of days ago, and immediately sent them to the universities I have applied to. I got a 800 in Chemistry so I really want it to be added to my application.
While sending scores I did not select the “rush delivery” option, but now I am scared that my scores will not reach in time for consideration, especially since some schools say the last test date should be December, and some wanted me to send it to them directly before seeing my report (which I did not do).
I’ve emailed all the universities my score as a self-reported update to my application, but I’m not sure if they can accept them as a legitimate addition.
Should I send another score report to the universities and choose the rush delivery option to make sure it reaches on time?
I would hate to pay that much extra cash, but I really want this score to reach them!
Any advice would be appreciated, need to decide ASAP!
Thank you in advance!
(PS: I contacted the collegeboard as well and they couldn’t cancel my first report)
“I would hate to pay that much extra cash, but I really want this score to reach them.” Seems to me that is what you need to do then.
BTW, if some of your schools said Dec should be the last test date, take them at their word. Why would they extended it for you and not for everyone else?
No idea where you applied, and no idea what your original score was. At this point in the game, Ithink the chips should fall where they may. Unless your score increased dramatically, does it matter? The schools that want to see SAT 2 scores are pretty selelctive anyway. You probably didn’t send a subpar score. If they are that selective, I can’t see a higher score taking you out of a deny pile to an accepted pile. Just something to think about,
Surprisingly, collegeboard says my order has been “fulfilled”. I think usually it takes around 10 days for that message to come up! Maybe resending with rush wouldn’t make a difference now?
Most schools were fine with January. This attempt was a final shot at an addition to my app, to be honest. I was not expecting an 800. I am hoping they are lenient with deadlines since there is still quite some time till decisions are out, or that they’ll at least look at it and know I am good at chem too
There was no “increase” in score per se. I got 800 in math II and 740 in physics so I guess 800 in chem would be a nice addition. Plus it somewhat makes up for a poor chem score in my midyear report, which is primarily what I was going for.
